Royals fall short from claiming its second world championship

By Joe Sweeney

The San Francisco Giants hold on to beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in Game 7 of the 2014 World Series. Giants ace pitcher and World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner came in to preserve the one run lead and compile a record of 21 innings pitched while giving up only one run. With two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning Alex Gordon drove a triple to the wall but Salvador Perez was unable to bring him home. The Giants have now claimed its third World Series Championship in the last five years. The Kansas City Royals have proven to be the most deserving  opponent and will return as a contender in 2015.
