Italian Manufacturing Company Will Add 122 Jobs With Expansion in Ste. Genevieve

An Italian company that makes vinyl windows, doors, panels and other construction products says it will open a manufacturing facility in Ste. Genevieve, bringing 122 jobs to the county.

Gov. Jay Nixon made the announcement today at a meeting of the Hawthorn Foundation, a private non-profit organization that works with the state to promote economic development.

Nixon said the announcement by the Piva Group, a family-owned business from Milan, showed that Missouri is able to attract the interest of and successfully recruit more foreign companies. He met with officials of Piva during a trade mission to Europe earlier this year.

“This is great news for Ste. Genevieve, and another indication of how more global companies are seeing Missouri as a prime location for investment and job creation,” Nixon said in a news release. “Piva Group’s decision to open its first U.S. facility in Missouri demonstrates how the relationships we establish overseas can have a significant economic impact here at home.”

Piva Group products serve both the residential and commercial markets, distributing them in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Africa, Australia and Latin America. The company has invested $6.47 million as it expands into a new 90,000 square-foot production facility that is expected to be running by August.
